A new film titled THE COLOR OF RAGE was, on September 3, 2016, screened at SAFEHOUSE in Abuja. The screening was part of the program of weekly film screenings, which take place at the SAFEHOUSE in Abuja.
THE COLOR OF RAGE is a dramatic film, which shows how far people will go when pushed to the limit. It was written and directed by American-based filmmaker, Vigil Chime. According to her, it is her aim to create films that will be enjoyed by Nigerians and Americans alike – a sort of Hollywood meets Nollywood. THE COLOR OF RAGE stars Paul Sambo, Empress Njamah, Nita Byack George, Chucks Chyke, and Titi Joseph.
The movie tells the story of a married couple, Maureen and Hilary, who are under pressure from various quarters. Maureen is being tormented by the young and beautiful Uche who will stop at nothing to have Maureen's seemingly perfect life. Hilary is being blackmailed by Presley, a ruthless individual who seems to know everything about him, and the double life he is living. Blinded by arrogance and hubris, Uche and Presley fail to see the color in the hearts of those they are harassing changing from calm to red, which is also the color of rage and of something else ... blood.
Some of those in attendance at the screening were Mr. Augustine Okechukwu, DG Voice of Nigeria; Engineer Christopher Chigboh, former Secretary Transportation FCT; Engineer Ben Osy-Okoh, Secretary of Nigerian Engineers (Abuja Branch); Mr. Ikem Nwankwo, as well as other dignitaries. The screening was followed by a question and answer session with the director, the producer and the lead actors in the film. It was indeed an exciting time for the audience to see a new kind of dramatic genre coming from Nollywood.
